The singing sessions last one and half hours. The first half hour light refreshments are provided and there is time for a chat and meet new people dealing with similar issues. The singing lasts for one hour and is a combination of seated movement to music, breathing exercises and some fun with vocal warm ups. The songs are chosen from many decades of popular music. The group leaders encourage suggestions of songs from the groups to ensure the groups are singing songs that are familiar and that people enjoy. Many people go to the sessions worried about not being able to sing but by the end of the session any worries about this vanish. There is something magical about group singing that makes people relax and join in. New members will be given a warm welcome by the Group Leader and volunteers.
