Dementia Friendly Community Cafe – Welwyn

The Dementia Friendly Community Cafe offers a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to engage in fun activities and companionship specifically aimed at anyone in the community who may feel isolated or lonely who requires social engagement over a cuppa and their families, carers and their loved ones. With an ageing population, diagnoses of dementia are increasing, which means that more and more people in the local area will be affected by the condition at some point in their lives.
Home Instead Welwyn and Hatfield hope that by educating the local community, they can enhance dementia awareness through positive social interaction. They are working in alliance at improving services within their community by bringing this service, with the support of generous donations, guest speakers and volunteers, helping people stay both engaged and stimulated and therefore lifting their spirit and sense of accomplishment.
